On this delegation you will meet Cubans from all walks of life. We will visit and study Cuba’s urban and rural educational programs from primary to university levels including professional schools such as the Latin American School of Medicine and the National School of Arts. Included are meetings with professionals, families, elected officials, the neighborhood doctor, neighborhood organizing committees, and visits to artists’ collectives, museums, and historical sites. Also included is a two-day visit to Matanzas province and the Zapata peninsula. A popular visit is to the Alemar Cooperative, an urban organic garden/farm.
Cost: $2,250 + airfare + $80 visa

*Price includes: All lodging (dorm style at a world renowned popular education center in Havana and hotel like homestays in the province), meals, interpretation and transportation within Cuba. You will also receive extensive reading material and advocacy tools.

Participants in this delegation will:
Examine Cuban national priorities, such as universal education and health care.
Visit schools, museums, cultural and historical sites.
Discuss with Cubans the effects of recent changes in US and Cuban relations including the longstanding US blockade on Cuba.
Experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of old Havana, its neighborhoods, and the surrounding countryside.
Visit the Bay of Pigs Museum & the National Park of Cienaga de Zapata, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2001.
