Upon return from your Solidarity Collective delegation you will be more deeply informed, motivated, and inspired. There is no replacement for meeting directly with communities, witnessing both the political and environmental landscape in which they organize, and listening to their stories of resistance- ones you nor the people you report back to, are likely to forget. If you are ready to jump into activism and advocacy in your community, we’ll be there to support you.
Solidarity Collective designs our Popular Education and Advocacy Program to provide you with skills and on-the-ground experiences that you can leverage in your ongoing work for justice, dignity and collective well-being. Since 1983, we've connected more than 20,000 delegates with a grassroots analysis and with the urban and rural communities that lead struggles across the Americas!
The Solidarity Collective builds transnational grassroots solidarity to resist U.S. government and corporate policies that contribute to violence, poverty and oppression in the Americas.
Our delegations take U.S.-based activists through an immersive and collectively transformative process with our local partners in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our delegations use a popular education pedagogy and focus on the struggle and principled leadership of Indigenous, African-descendant and Campesino land defenders, community organizers, and peacebuilders.
Every delegation is a unique and unforgettable experience. Each delegation has an itinerary with scheduled activities, meetings, training, and visits that are specific to the thematic framing and the group's participants. All delegations center the work, testimonies, and requests from local grassroots organisations that are committed to justice.

Cuba has a rich history of Arts and emancipatory action that has inspired the world. Join us as we explore the heart of Cuba through the perspective of Poetry, Dance, Music and other contemporary Art forms. Together we will learn about the unyielding strength of Cuba's civil society and how their soul-centering work is the intersection of education, healthcare, culture, and artistry.

The Intersection between the Climate Crisis and Militarization

Join us on a delegation to learn directly from the Cuban people about their rich history, dynamic society, and complex present. What advances have been made in areas of education, healthcare, the arts, and sustainability? What can the rest of the world learn from Cuba? What challenges remain? What impact do U.S. policies have on the lives of Cuban people? How can we best work in solidarity with the Cubans on the island?
This people-to-people delegation will explore these questions through conversations with youth, artists, doctors, professionals, families, educators, musicians ,economists and neighborhood organizing committees. Visits to artists' collectives, urban agriculture projects, museums, and historical sites provide an on-the-ground immersion into Cuban life and culture. Delegates located in the Raleigh/Durham area are encouraged to apply.

Building Community through Solidarity & Creativity
November 15-24, 2024
This delegation will focus on US-backed militarism in Honduras and its negative impact on communities struggling against the climate crisis by contextualizing the root causes of climate migration. Delegates will learn directly from frontline communities and organizations centering the experiences of Indigenous and campesino people who are witnesses and victims of hyper-militarism and who are at risk of being displaced because of climate aggravation. This delegation intends to spread awareness of how militarism exacerbates the climate crisiss which harms the living conditions of Indigenous and campesino communities. Climate and anti-war activists are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as students interested in global human rights and climate migration.

Delegates will experience the revolutionary spirit of the Cuban people in creating their own futures. This people-to-people delegation will meet with women-led cooperatives and collectives that organize projects to strengthen and sustain their communities. Learn directly from the Cuban model of collective well-being, cooperative practices, and shared opportunities in the midst of the ongoing U.S. Blockade against the Cubans.
In partnership with Martin Luther King Jr. Center, we will visit with doctors, musicians, artists' collectives, urban agriculture projects, museums, and historical sites, provides an on-the-ground immersion into Cuban life and culture. This delegation is open to all applicants, and will speak to many different interests!

The small but mighty Caribbean Island of Cuba has long served as a nexus for movements, ideas, and tangible manifestations of international solidarity. Inspiring the lives of famed activists and intellectuals CLR James, Walter Rodey, George Lamming, just to name a few, Cuba has been a nation interconnected with the liberatory future of the world. From Cuba’s crucial role in the struggle against apartheid sending its military forces to liberate Angola, to its world-renowned humanitarian approach to medicine which continues to provide healthcare to the underprivileged of the planet to this day, solidarity with the oppressed is an essential part of the Cuban essence. That solidarity is inseparable from Cuba’s diverse culture, manifesting in its arts, sports, history, and people. Cuba accomplishes this all while under the chokehold of a several decade U.S. imposed blockade. Join the Witness for Peace Solidarity Collective on an educational delegation to learn how you can both show solidarity with the Cuban nation, and embody the spirit of internationalist principles in your own life and community.
