Mickey Foley, a former delegate to Cuba, recounts his experience with the WFPSC in the country through a series of chronicles, beginning with his departure from his home in Minnesota and continuing with his daily encounters, impressions, and reflections on the island. Here is the second part of this series.

From the moment he arrived at the White House, Trump has sought to ramp up pressure on Cuba in an effort to force it to submit to his will. However, as we in Latin America know all too well, where there is oppression, there is—and always will be—solidarity and resistance.

During our visit to Cuba, we had the opportunity to learn about some of the agroecological projects that were created with the aim of feeding their communities and thus achieving food sovereignty in the midst of an inhumane blockade.

Two projects that embrace art in its various forms, two projects in neighborhoods of Havana, whose common thread is their commitment to the community they are part of. Women and men struggling to ensure that children in their community learn about their land through art.
